GRID
GIST 2279-Bus Test System
IntegratedGwangju Institute of Science and Technology · v4.0.0 · released 2026-07-05
Geographically grounded synthetic Korean test system. The map combines 765, 345 and 154 kV line corridors, 1,122 lower-voltage terminal buses, and 512 generator records aggregated into 474 capacity bubbles over an attributed OpenStreetMap basemap.
↗PLANTS
전력시장 발전설비 정보
Integrated · keyKorea Power Exchange · data.go.kr · Month-end generator registry
Authoritative generator name, company, region, dispatch classification, generation source and type, fuel, and installed capacity. Nuclear and major coal records are matched to named GIST generator buses; unmatched records remain off-map rather than receiving invented coordinates.
↗NUCLEAR
원자력발전소 실시간 발전 현황
Integrated · keyKorea Hydro & Nuclear Power · data.go.kr · Real-time
Live generator output in MWe and reactor output percentage for Kori, Wolsong, Hanbit, Hanul and Saeul. The map enriches matched KPX nuclear sites without treating KHNP output as unit coordinates.
↗MIX
발전원별 실시간 전력수급현황
Integrated · publicKorea Power Exchange · Five-minute instantaneous values
The official public KPX page supplies hydro, oil, coal, nuclear, pumped storage, gas, solar, wind and other renewables without a key. A configured Public Data Portal key enables the structured endpoint; PPA and behind-the-meter values remain KPX estimates.
↗FACTOR
국가 전력 배출계수
Integrated · benchmarkGreenhouse Gas Inventory and Research Center · Korea Energy Agency · Annual approved factor
The latest approved 2023 factors are 384.4 gCO₂e/kWh at generation and 417.3 gCO₂e/kWh at consumption. They are annual accounting factors, not a real-time KPX series.
↗LIVE
실시간 전력수급현황
IntegratedKorea Power Exchange · Five-minute instantaneous values
Official live market demand, estimated total demand, supply capacity, supply reserve and reserve ratio. The public KPX status page is used while the separately subscribed GW API remains optional.
↗MARKET
Day-ahead SMP & demand forecast
Key requiredKorea Power Exchange · data.go.kr · Hourly · published around 23:00
Mainland and Jeju system marginal prices paired with next-day hourly demand forecasts.
↗RENEW
Regional solar and wind generation
Integrated · referenceKorea Power Exchange · Hourly regional files
Province-level market solar output and mainland or Jeju wind output. The Data Lab joins this series to weather observations without treating market output as total behind-the-meter generation.
↗WEATHER
Surface irradiance and weather
Integrated · keyKorea Meteorological Administration · Hourly representative stations
Cloud, irradiance, temperature and wind context from one representative ASOS station per region. It is not presented as a province-wide average.
↗CURTAIL
Renewable curtailment events
Integrated · referenceKorea Power Exchange · Event-level publication
Curtailment timing and regional event context. Jeju wind curtailed energy is published as an estimate, while solar curtailed energy is not consistently quantified.
↗DEMAND
Regional hourly electricity use
Integrated · keyKorea Electric Power Corporation · Hourly by regional office
Remotely metered consumption by KEPCO region for comparing local demand with renewable output. It is not a replacement for official system demand.
↗STORAGE
Pumped-storage generation
Integrated · keyKorea Hydro & Nuclear Power · Live plant measurements
Generation and pumping behavior across Korea's pumped-storage fleet, presented as a water-battery dispatch view.
↗WATER
Reservoir, rainfall and hydro output
Integrated · keyKorea Hydro & Nuclear Power · Live plant measurements
Reservoir condition, rainfall and hydro output for interpreting storage flexibility and water availability together.
↗HYDRO
Hydroelectric generation
Integrated · keyKorea Hydro & Nuclear Power · Live plant measurements
Plant-level hydroelectric output from KHNP's public API, aggregated separately from pumped storage.
↗STATE
Bus-level state estimator archives
Integrated · archiveKorea Power Exchange · Five-minute monthly archives
Bulk voltage and bus-state archives for offline grid-stress playback. The public bus identifiers do not provide a verified coordinate crosswalk, so the Data Lab avoids claiming exact asset locations.
↗ETS
Korean emissions and allowance market
Integrated · partialGIR and Korea Exchange · Annual emissions · daily prices
Managed-company emissions and K-ETS allowance prices for comparing power-sector carbon exposure with market conditions.
↗STACK
CleanSYS stack measurements
Integrated · keyKorea Environment Corporation · Near-real-time at participating stacks
Plant-stack air-pollutant observations. Units differ by pollutant and installation, so the interface does not combine them into a single unsupported score.
↗GEO
OpenStreetMap power infrastructure
RoadmapOpenStreetMap contributors / Geofabrik · Continuously updated
Candidate overlay for observed substations, towers and transmission lines, with attribution and ODbL handling.
↗An intraday estimate against an official annual factor.
Korea’s latest approved 2023 factor is 384.4 gCO₂e/kWh at generation and 417.3 gCO₂e/kWh at consumption. No official five-minute intensity series is published with the KPX generation feed. The live chart multiplies each KPX fuel output by an IPCC AR5 median lifecycle factor, then divides by generation excluding pumped storage. “Other renewables” uses the dedicated-biomass median as a conservative proxy.

What the map is and is not
It is a navigable view of a public, power-flow-ready synthetic model whose geography is anchored in open observations.
It is not a current KEPCO asset registry, an operational state estimator, or a security-sensitive representation of control systems.
